"Crash Course" Needs Grains of Salt For Palatability
Crises probably are imminent in energy, environment, and economic systems.
But wealthy guys who "got out" with their money before the crash always seem to me to be insufferably proud of themselves and their good luck. Like most of that ilk, he's absolutely CERTAIN he's figured it out, and that he's absolutely right about it.

Via the NYTimes: This is a map of the US charting the known oil spills from pipelines in the last 10 years and the volume of them.
Since 1990, more than 110 million gallons of mostly crude and petroleum products have spilled from the nation’s mainland pipeline network. (Now there's more bubbling up from under the Gulf, around the Macondo Well. But they're never gonna stop, til it's all gone.)
More than half of it occurred in three states — Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana — where more pipelines exist.

The Obamanator and Miz Hillary are about to agree to another, massive, trans-Continental pipeline to pump tar-sands crude from Alberta, Canada, down to refineries in Houston TX, from whence it will be sold to the highest bidder.
I know the argument that, given the high volumes of material these pipelines transport, 100 MILLION GALLONS, spread over 50 states, really isn't THAT much.
But it doesn't TAKE much to thoroughly fuck up some place for a decade or so.
