John Perkins, the economic hitman of the title, is the real deal. I think he inclines a little too far toward "optimisim" under the circumstances, but this may be a sign of desperatuion from someone who has looked FAR into the abyss.

I love this guy.
I read his book on the economic hit men bringing the conditions for the original shock doctrine scenario long ago, and have been motivated by it ever since.
