More information came out yesterday. NM's US Atty during the period, and one of the six (?) fired for insufficient partisanship in office, David Iglesias, is at the epicenter of the new revelations. He was singled out by "Leather" Heather Wilson for not helping her enough in her (eventually, narrowly victorious) campaign, and she complaioned to NM senior Senator, and Leather Heather's god-father, Pajama Pete Domenici, who took it to Rove and Beto Gonzales.
Emails, covered by Rachel Maddow (vid on C&L) indicate there was considerable, probably illegal, certainly unethical, communication between and among the principals, including efforts to intimidate Iglesias.
But that's just part of the story.
The Issue here is NOT NOW and never has been whether the fired USAttys were doing their jobs.
It was then--and is now more than ever, since so many of them have NOT yet been replaced by the Obama/Holder DoJ:
Look up the case of Don Siegelman, for one good answer.
WHAT DID THE ONES WHO SURVIVED ROVE'S PURGES HAVE TO DO TO KEEP THEM?
The ones fired were accused by Rove and Beto Gonzales of insufficient ardor in preserving Rove's eternal GOPUKE majority. Iglesias in particular, was fired because "Leather" Heather Wilson complained to her patron, Pajama Pete Domenici, who "went right to the top," and complained to Rove and Beto, that Iglesias wasn't tarring Dims enough in the Courts in advance of the election.
Which suggests a further, important question:
