Friday...I'm the first case, at 6:30 am.
Here's what I know (I shoulda done this in the first place):
1. The procedure itself will last between 40 minutes (if there's no need to install a stent--which apparently seems to all the physicians unlikely), and 2 to 2 1/2 hours in case they go structural.
2. I will be aware, though sedated.
3. Afterwards, the greatest danger is re-opening the incision in the artery. I'll be on 'sick call' for the weekend: Overnight in the hospital; no driving for 3 days; no strenuous exertions for 7 days; no lifting for 10 days.
If I've overlooked anything, do NOT stint any hints on stents...
I'm going to put Buddy in a kennel for a couple of days. He's a love, but people get scared by him, and when that happens he wonders 'hey, what have they gotta hide, anyway???' that way, any of my friends can come in and take care of the rest of the pack, who are not as pugnacious in appearance and demeanor (if he doesn't know you)...
Anyway: I'd welcome advice on such matters as i may have overlooked...
Thank-ya very much...

I haven't been here in a few days, I didn't realize this was in the works. I'll be thinking of you and sending good thoughts (and other things!) your way.
Remember to breathe.
No advice, besides to do what they tell you and take it easy.
I still say you are a big strong guy and you will come through this and feel better on the other side.
And I'll be thinking about you the rest of the week and until in fact you are all healed up.
:)
I will be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.
You really are a wonderful man

As noted, found out that a stent is great for what it does, keep the artery open, and on the down side, does provide a locus for infection if you get a cold and the like - for which reason I have been advised by some one who found out the hard way, you have to take care of yourself and not do the 'I'll just get over it in time' routine if you come down with something. Sorry, can't not tell you that. Take care.

Angiogram - ick! My father didn't enjoy his!
That said, it's apparently more uncomfortable than anything else... I'm sure you'll do fine!
Too late to be on time, but best wishes!
Oh, and I empathize. Had a heart cath and got to be careful about that incision... Not fun, and the worst part was having to keep the pressure on afterwards so no going to the bathroom - I hate having to use a "male urinal" with people in the room!
Very late reading this news, but in time for druid grove tomorrow. The blessings of the bored gods will pour down upon you, expect full recovery, pets are the best RX for any ailment.
Thank goodness it ain't facial surgery, cause you're one good-lookin' fella.
