ClearChannel has Forbidden Franchisees To Play "The Boss's" New Hit, "Magic"

Here we go again. The Dixie Chicks redux! Bruce has the #1 record in all the land called ” Magic,” but Clear Channel has sent out a memo saying:

Alas, there’s a hitch: Radio will not play “Magic.” In fact, sources tell me that Clear Channel has sent an edict to its classic rock stations not to play tracks from “Magic.” But it’s OK to play old Springsteen tracks such as “Dancing in the Dark,” “Born to Run” and “Born in the USA.”

Republican owned corporate media once again is attempting to silence progressive positions. I’m trying to contact Springsteen’s camp for a comment.

Howie Klein has much more…

Clear Channel is a big-time and very consciously right-wing power player with a goal of changing American pop culture. They have done all they could to stifle progressive voices and to dumb down and trivialize the culture…
I shall leave this thread with a single observation: A decent marksman with a little radio training can disable any radio tower with one shot. I do not recommend this course, do not advocate it, merely note it as a matter of passing interest.

Broadcast radio is about to go the way of the dinosaur and there's nothing Clear Channel can do about it.

broadcast radio likely wont be going anywhere for quite a while yet, imho, kyle...there's just too much money, and influence to be had...not untill every car comes equipped with an i-pod, or like device, as standard equipment, will there begin to be that sort of threat to the medium...and that's a decade off, atleast...jmho

Clear Channel truly sucks. Their stations held pro war rallies before the invasion of Iraq and then sent their own news teams there to cover them, as if they had nothing to do with them.
